Suffolk Wildlife Trust

Suffolk Wildlife Trust is the county’s largest voluntary organisation dedicated to local nature conservation. Supported by 28,000 members it is committed to creating Living Landscapes that are rich in wildlife where species can expand their range and move out of protected sites into the wider countryside through networks of linked up habitat.

The Trust cares for over 3015 hectares of Suffolk’s most precious wildlife habitat in 53 nature reserves (which are all free to visit) and it works with landowners and local communities to advise them on improving their land for wildlife. The Trust also reviews planning applications that affect wildlife sites and comments on strategic plans. People are at the heart of its vision for a Living Landscape and five environmental centres provide environmental education opportunities for all ages, including wildlife courses for adults. Last year more than 60,000 people were involved with a wildlife activity organised by Suffolk Wildlife Trust.
